The application defines height above mean sea level as the elevation relative to an average sea level datum, considering ground elevation or altitude in the air. Unlike GPS elevation, which models Earth as an ellipsoid with potential discrepancies up to 100 meters (328 feet) from the actual tidal height, this app employs a geoid-based vertical datum, such as the global EGM96 model, for greater accuracy.

The stated altitude vertical accuracy has a confidence level of 68%. This means there is a 68% probability that the true altitude falls within the estimated range defined by the reported value plus or minus its error margin.
